If your hotel/resort is looking amazing in reality and poor in photos, you have a BIG problem.
You need a BRAND NEW hotel photoshoot, this time a very good one. It is the only reason of not getting fully booked in season and even out of season.
How I see a hotel photoshoot from the point of view of a photographer is very complex… I know tourism from all angles, due to my many years of marketing expertise in tourism in Spain, Greece, Cyprus.
I know what the clients want and need. I know what the hotel owners want and need. My photography work is just the missing link between the two.
A hotel or resort needs pictures of each and every corner that is interesting and adds value to the entire concept. For example if your hotel offers activities such as yoga classes, it is obvious we need to capture that during the hotel photoshoot in Greece.
More than that, if the rooms differ in decor, design, view from the balcony or terrace… people need to know exactly what they are booking. So, ALL types of rooms should be clearly illustrated and then presented in a logical way on the booking platforms and website.
The different times of the day matter as well in a professional photoshoot of a resort. Some places look amazing in the morning, while others shine during the evening. Some boutique hotels are in great locations, with a magical sunset view or with a fantastic sea view. Those resorts definitely deserve drone images.
Some resorts are in or very close to the center of the town or to the beach. I would add a few images of the surroundings. That adds a ton of value to the entire place.
The images from the hotel photoshoot should create the right expectations, not oversell. Your job as a hotel owner is to make sure the place keeps looking like it shows in the pictures.
People don’t buy the accommodation. They are buying the pictures from the photoshoot. That is what you are selling – the photos. The better the pictures, the better you sell the rooms.

The main image need to be catchy and have stand-out chromatics to create curiosity to click on it and see the entire gallery.

Lastly, each type of room should be clearly presented, so that the client receives the same room they saw in the pictures and paid for.
Then there is social media. Instagram, Tik-Tok, Facebook, X (Ex Twitter), bla bla. Social media is like a baby. It needs constant feeding and nurturing. You need to be active there. It simply shows to your potential customers that you care. Social media content, photos, videos should be part of any serious hotel marketing strategy in Greece or anywhere else in the Med, Europe or the world.
